Job Description: STP Operator (MBBR Technology)
Position: STP Operator
Department: Operations STP
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
Technology Expertise: MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) Technology
Key Responsibilities
Operation & Maintenance:
o Operate and oversee the day-to-day functioning of the Sewage Treatment Plant
(STP) utilizing MBBR technology.
o Monitor and maintain mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems to
ensure optimal performance.
Process Optimization:
o Perform routine checks and adjustments to improve efficiency and effectiveness
of the MBBR system.
o Monitor biofilm growth and maintain reactor conditions for optimal biological
treatment.
Quality Assurance:
o Conduct regular water quality tests to ensure treated effluent meets regulatory
standards.
o Document water quality parameters and adjust operational settings as needed.
Troubleshooting & Repairs:
o Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to the MBBR system.
o Collaborate with the maintenance team to perform preventive and corrective
maintenance activities.
Reporting & Documentation:
o Maintain comprehensive logs of operational activities and equipment
performance.
o Prepare and submit periodic reports to the management team regarding plant
operations and efficiency.
Safety & Compliance:
o Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
o Perform inspections and enforce corrective actions to maintain workplace safety
and environmental compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: Diploma/ITI in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a
related field.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience operating STP systems using MBBR
technology.
Technical Expertise:
o Knowledge of MBBR technology, including biofilm processes and reactor
maintenance.
o Familiarity with SCADA and instrumentation systems (preferred).
Soft Skills:
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Effective communication and reporting capabilities.
